Who We Are
Access to Independence, Inc. is a non-profit agency in Wisconsin promoting independent living for all through education, action and choice. We serve four counties in southern Wisconsin: Dane, Green, Dodge and Columbia.
We are an Independent Living Center (ILC) , one of a nationwide network of consumer-controlled disability resource centers. ILC's assist people to make their own choices, manage their own affairs, and live as independently as they choose, regardless of disability.
Shared Responsibility
Access to Independence, Inc. is a non-profit membership organization. The majority of the Board and staff are people with disabilities.
Individuals who support our mission may become members. We do ask members who can afford it to contribute at least $10 annually. Members guide the Board of Directors in managing the organization. However, you do not need to contribute, or to be a member of the organization, to use our services.
Our clients must be motivated to participate as much as they can in their services, and must keep us informed of what is going on. As consumers, they share responsibility for their services and the outcomes of their work with us.
