Green activities for Madison students
RS+K has worked with MGE for years on the utility’s Earth Day initiative. MGE partners with Madison-area schools and publishes an activity book for grade school children. Teachers can order Fun Books for free and incorporate it in to their Earth Day curriculum.
It’s a project that has continued for many years; RS+K has been involved for at least 10 years and maybe more. What started as a booklet with a couple of puzzles is now a larger booklet, a website and a video contest for students.
We reinvented the web presence in 2018 and have added to the page each year. We like the page to be pretty interactive! Try the Electric Vehicle Trivia Challenge. I made it from scratch – from researching the questions to creating the visuals to coding the javascript quiz.
In 2020, due to the Covid-19 stay-at-home order, MGE did not publish the book. Which was a good call; no one needs a mountain of paper no one will use. We got the whole thing done, though, and ready for the printer. But here is what it would have looked like if it had been printed!
